Taf asked:

I’m having both, my side and his side of our immediate family to hang out for a weekend somewhere close to home. Any ideas that would make the ceremony exceptionally nice without a heavy price? Should I wear a formal wedding dress?

In reference to the gown, do whatever you want…have you always dreamed of a fancy gown? Then go for it. If you could care less, wear a sundress!

If its a really small wedding, you can have everyone participate…if you do like a sand unity thing, the whole family can have some sand…something like that.

Get married in a registry office. You don’t need a wedding dress and you can invite just who you want. The reception can be done the same way. Pick a hotel or club that caters for weddings and get the best quote that you can. Have a lovely wedding and the best of luck to you both.

I would suggest having a Small wedding like in a church or head to Reno or Vegas depending on where you live. And it could just be immediate family. Then have a Wedding reception later with friends and other family members. That how I did my wedding. I just went to Reno and got married with my immediate family there and had a Wedding Reception 2 weeks later for friends and family. I think all in all it cost about 9k give or take with the music band and photographer.

I don’t know where you live, but a State Park at the right time of the year is very nice. You can wear whatever you want, formal or not formal.

Be sure and wear something that makes you feel beautiful. Spend some time finding the perfect thing.
We had a small wedding, and one thing that I regret is that we did not have a photographer. It would be nice to have nice wedding pictures.
Best wishes.

We had a small family/friend wedding in our backyard. I recorded all of our favorite “love songs” on a CD. I was able to have approximately 4 hours of music to play at our reception without paying for a band. I bought our cake as Costco. (They decorate cakes upon request.) I also recruited an elderly aunt to make our corsages, bouquets, etc. Mother & Mother-in-law were able to make all the hordevoers. We were able to pull off the entire wedding for under $500.00. The biggest expense was our wedding wear and Champagne.

We also had many, many comments on how beautiful and intimate the small and simple ceremony was!!!

Get married at a local park that has a gazebo. Rent some chairs, hire a photographer and an officiant, and pretty much you’re set! My father-in-law made food for our wedding, so it was free! We had it at another location of the park with no reception. Just a nice time talking to family and friends before they left. My wedding was about $3500 for flowers, officiant, cake, etc for 50 guests. Choose your type of dress, whatever suits your location of the ceremony.

Perhaps you could find a wedding chapel in the town you will be staying in. They do everything for the ceremony, including the cake, punch, nuts and mints for the reception. Some offer horsdourvs for an additional fee. Some also include decorations and flowers. Most have an indoor chapel and an outdoor garden area. You could also find a bed&breakfast that also offers wedding ceremonies. You and your husband could stay at the Inn while the other guests stay at a local motel(because of cost-about $200 - $300 for 2 nights at B&B). This would also give you more privacy and you can still hang with them during the daytime. I know here in Oklahoma the prices start at around $500.

Well the dress it doesn’t matter find something you life if it’s just formal or your dream princess dress.

You could always just go to a local bakery or maybe a family member and get your cake.
In my wedding me and my fiance didn’t want a cater so our family has decided they wanted to help. Maybe go to a state park have a nice lil wedding and have like BBQ, I think that would cute.
Maybe get the family involved like w/ flower and such..
Save you a ton of money.
We wanted to do that but every place around where we live was booked for like a month before and after our wedding date, so we are having it in a church. Our wedding date is August 11…Can’t wait….
Hope this Helps… Good Luck :)

Is this outside or inside? A nice prom type dress can be bought on ebay for a lot less then new. or a nice sundress if it is outside. Keep your flowers and decor simple and reuseable so you can use them in your home afterwards. Good Luck
